• Space Plumber

  Space Plumber is a first-person 3d game, not much different to Doom and Quake. The main goal is to reach the extraction pumps before the water level increases swamping everything. Each of the 30 levels that conform the game have progressive difficulty by adding more pumps and consoles that you must deactivate first, and by making the map bigger. There are no enemies, you fight against time and misorientation, and you only have your skills to move inside the maze.

• StandAlone Q3

  Standalone Q3 is a modified version of Quake 3 GPL engine allowing to play Quake 3 mods without the need of the original Quake 3 CD.

• TC:ELite

  TC:ELite is a modern world total conversion modification of the free, popular, stand-alone third-person shooter Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

• Tenebrae

  Tenebrae is a modification of the quake source that adds stencil shadows and per pixel lights to quake. Stencil shadows allow for realistic shadow effects on every object in the game world. Per pixel lighting allows you to have fine surface details correctly lit. These are essentially the same algorithms as used by the new Doom game.

• Textmode Quake

  Textmode Quake lets you play Quake at a text terminal, in an xterm, or over a telnet session.

• The Castle

  The Castle is a game in a dark fantasy setting. Your main weapon is a sword, so the fight is mostly short-range. 3 main levels are included, packed with creatures, items, and sounds.

  The Hunted is a single player FPS game based off of the Darkplaces engine. It is completely standalone, meaning that you do not need any prior files to run it, and it comes in a series called chronicles.

  Tilda is a Linux terminal taking after the likeness of many classic terminals from first person shooter games, Quake, Doom and Half-Life (to name a few), where the terminal has no border and is hidden from the desktop until a key is pressed.

• Transfusion

  Transfusion plunges you into a world originally created in 1997. Created with the BUILD game engine (Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior), Blood was a tour de force of horror that has yet to be matched, in which you battled minions of evil in a lightning-paced, blood splattered quest for glory.

• Trepidation

  Trepidation is a first person shooter set in the future based on the GPL IOQ3 Quake Engine. Trepidation features all new weapons, maps and vehicles. Currently planned game types are DM, CTF, Last Man Standing and 2 others to be announced.

• TSSHP

  The System Shock Hack Project: to reverse-engineer and then re-engineer System Shock. Why? Because Looking Glass have just folded and we want to preserve the legacy.

• Tuxanci

  Tuxanci is a multiplatform game, inspired by well-known czech game Bulanci (by the SleepTeam Labs team), distributed under GNU GPL license.

• UHexen

  UHexen is yet another port of Raven Software/Id software Hexen game for Simple Directmedia Layer and FreeBSD console.

• Vavoom

  Vavoom is a source port based on sources of Doom, Heretic, Hexen and a little bit from Quake. Supported platforms are DOS, Windows and Linux.

• Wolf4SDL

  Wolf4SDL is an open-source port of id Software's classic first-person shooter Wolfenstein 3D to the cross-plattform multimedia library 'Simple DirectMedia Layer (SDL)'.

• WolfGL

  WolfGL is a famous DOS game from 1992 created by id Software. This is an attempt to port the source (released in 1995) to Linux.

• ZDoom

  ZDoom is an enhanced port of the official DOOM source. It features support for all Hexen editing features (including ACS, hubs, etc.), support for most BOOM editing features, freelook, jumping, and translucency support, a Quake-style console, high screen resolutions, removal of the original DOOM's limits, support for many more music formats (including MOD, IT, XM, S3M, MIDI, MP3, and MUS), better mouse support, UDP networking, and more.

  The Freenukum Jump'n Run game is a clone of the old EGA graphics based 2D game Duke Nukem. It uses the original Duke Nukem level and graphics files.

• Giana's Return

  Giana's Return aims to be a worthy unofficial sequel of "The Great Giana Sisters". "The Great Giana Sisters" is a classic Jump'N'Run game made in the late eighties mainly by Armin Gessert, Manfred Trenz and Chris Hülsbeck and gained massive attention as "Super Mario" copy, but still had it's very own charm and fanbase.

• Goonies

  Goonies is a fun jump n' run game. The action takes place in the sleepy seaside town of Cauldron Point, down in an area known as the Goon Docks.

• Inner Worlds

  (shareware) Inner Worlds is a side-scrolling hack and slay game. In Inner Worlds you play the role of a strong and beautiful woman whose quest-name is Nikita. Nikita has the astonishing ability to turn into a ferocious she-wolf! Nikita's quest is to track down The Claws, the evil creation of a misguided genius. The Claws has plagued the world for generations.

• Phantomas

  Phantomas is a remake of the mythic platform game Phantomas, made by Enric Cervera in 1986.

• Pinch ol' Santa

  Pinch ol' Santa 2 is a small Christmas game made by SwordLord - the coding crew. It is Christmas Eve and the time is nearing 9 o' clock in the evening. There can only be seconds until Santa starts to deliver his parcels to the chimneys of your town.

• Rats&Spears

  Rats&Spears is a cartoon-like game where rats are going mad about javelin-throwing.

• Salp Wars

  Salp Wars is an original 2-dimensional multiplayer sidescrolling game. You play it over a Local Area Network (LAN) with other friends on separate computers.

• SuperMaze

  SuperMaze is a simple to learn and play humorous non-violent hunt-and-shoot game using Smileys as the main actors in a maze style environment. You don't need more than the cursor keys and the space key to control your Smiley. The aim of the game is simple: Hunt each other and try to reach as first the win score. There are several different mazes supplied with the game in various sizes and styles. SuperMaze is fully networked and multi platform and so playable on a vast amount of computers.

• Tower Toppler

  Tower Toppler is an almost complete reimplementation of the old game known as Tower Toppler or Nebulus. This game was available for PC, Atari, C64.

• Ursus

  Ursus is a video game with a bear cub who is seeking for his friend captured by the vile Arzar. So each of the following games is taking place in a rayman-like fantasy world. However, don't think that the game is really easy to finish, the end of the game is often tough.

• Windstille

  Windstille is going to become an old-school 2D site-scrolling shoot'em up game, similar to Turrican or Metroid (with probally some influence of Another World and Flashback). The game will use OpenGL for fast blitting, alpha effects, light effects, rotation, scaling and probally pseudo 3D effects like the ones in Yoshis Island.

• Worminator

  Worminator 3 is akin to many Apogee Software and ID Software classic action games such as Duke Nukem and Commander Keen. In it, you play as The Worminator (or as several other optional characters) and fight your way through many levels of madness and mayhem. It features nine unique weapons, visible character damage, multiple supported resolutions, full screen scrolling, sound and music, and more.

• Zelda2D

  Zelda2D is a classic Jump'n'Run style game featuring Link from Zelda collecting rubins and defending evil opponents. The game itself is a game-engine reading levels from XML-files.

• Axis Runner

  Axis Runner is a 3D game inspired by the Apple II game "Lode Runner". It is a 3D lode-runner type game with a weird topology: if the runner bumps into a wall he climbs up (like the fighting scenes in "The Matrix" or "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon") but if he reaches an edge he falls, in the current downwards direction. I.e. the direction of gravity changes.

• Babaliba

  Babaliba is a Sinclair ZX Spectrum computer game with fast movement and frenetic action.

• Balloon Chase

  In Balloon Chase you fly a hot air balloon and try to blow the other player out of the screen There is no AI in balloon chase (at least not yet), so you must have 2 players in order to play.

  battalion was a game written in 1994 on a Silicon Graphics Indy in GL for the Indizone-3 contest. This version also ran in the CAVE(tm) as a virtual reality game at the EVE 4 art show in May 1995.

  Blob Wars : Blob and Conquer is a 3rd person action shooter. With the apparent defeat of Galdov and the reclaiming of the Fire, Time, Space, and Reality Crystals, the Blobs' battle was only just beginning. Bob had rescued many Blobs and fought many battles, but now he had an ever bigger task ahead of him. The Blobs' homeworld is still littered with the alien forces and Bob once again makes it his task to lead the counter attack. But even without Galdov the aliens are still extremely well organised.

  (commercial) The game is simple: knock all of the green balls into the spirals, and then proceed to the next dimension. A lot of bouncing around and swearing "Just one more try" later, and you could save the world!

  In Bug Squish, you must defend your arm from an onslaught of blood-sucking insects. Use your fly-swatter to squish them before they suck you dry.

  cave9 is a gravity cave-exploration game. It's a 3D version of the classic SF-Cave game. Your ship goes into a cave at constant forward speed, and you have to control two diagonal thrusts to keep it from hitting the walls. As the game progress, the cave will twist more and become more tight.

  Cavepilot is yet another cave flying game in the spirit of the old legendary Amiga games Turbo Raketti and Gravity Force.

  FlatFrag is a multiplayer action shooter game. With its deathmatch fights it strives to be an entertaining arcade-style experience. The game is played from a bird's eye view and contains some 3D effects in order to make it not seem too flat. Currently only the game mode deathmatch is available, but others will probably be developed in the future.

• Free Fallin' Fred: Open His Chute Or He'll Be Dead

  Free Fallin' Fred is a very simple clicking game. You see the airplane going across the screen and after a while, Fred jumps. You click on Fred to open his chute. If you fail to open the chute in time, poor Fred will be dead. Don't let Fred die.

• Gillo

  Gillo is a two-player game in a virtual reality environment. Players are cars with a magnetic director, able to attract or reject a ball in order to throw it through a goal placed in the center of the playing field. It sounds easy... but remember that reality is fuzzy!

  GLSFcave is a port of SunFlat's SFcave to UNIX/OpenGL. The objective of the game is to control a ribbon and avoid hitting walls.

Brutal Chess is actually pretty good. The board and pieces look nice, the AI is good, it actually take time to make a move. Alas, this game will also not load correctly. I imagine that I am having the same problem that Dreamchess is giving me, which is to bad.
I'm not a big fan of chess but if I do play it, at least I want it to look good. Brutal Chess certainly fulfills this with excellent 3D graphics and some cool features to keep the game interesting.
Despite the name Brutal Chess, the game is in no way violent or brutal. The rules and gameplay are as in any other Chess game except here you can choose some pretty cool chess piece designs and the 3D graphics make it look great. The developers have added a few other touches of realism too including shadows, the ability to rotate the camera in any position and history arrows to show your previous moves.

Despite the name, it has nothing to do with apricots. It's a game where you fly a little plane around the screen and shoot things and drop bombs on enemy targets, and it's meant to be quick and fun.

There can be up to 6 planes, at most two human-controlled. All others will be computer-controlled. Network support is in to do list.

You must shoot at another's planes, destroy others' base and try to keep alive. You may return to your base to refill your ammo. The scenery is randomly generated.

This program was written as a configuration front end for the apricots game, found here. The game on its own requires manual editing of the configuration file to change options, there is at present no options screen. This graphical front end takes the hassle out of constantly editing the configuration file manually, as you can set options on the interface and the program will then write the configuration file for you. All you need to do is tell the program where your configuration file is!

This program is free and open source, much like apricots itself. Unlike apricots, it is written in java - this has the advantage that it is almost guaranteed to run on windows, linux or any other platform support by the JRE. For more questions, please visit the FAQ page.

Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena video game and the stand-alone sequel to the Defense of the Ancients mod. Developed by Valve Corporation, the game was released on July 9, 2013 for Microsoft Windows, utilizing a free-to-play business model.

OS X and Linux versions of Dota 2 were released on July 18, 2013. Dota 2 is exclusively available through Valve's content delivery platform, Steam.

Dota 2 consists of session-based online multiplayer matches, in which two teams of five players attempt to destroy their opponents' fortified strongholds. Each player controls a "Hero" character and, over the course of an individual game, focuses on improving their hero's abilities, acquiring items, and fighting against the other team.

The basic setup of Dota 2 places two strongholds containing critical structures called "Ancients" at opposing ends of a geographically balanced map. Kairo is an indie adventure game, developed and published by Locked Door Puzzle, Richard Perrin's independent studio. Kairo is set in world of minimalist abstract architecture which the player must explore to solve the puzzle contained within.

Kairo is played from first person perspective and has no additional controls beyond the ability to look around and navigate the environment. Interaction comes in the form of pushing objects, standing on switches or the environment reacting to player movement.
There is no dialogue and very little text in the game. The narrative comes entirely through environmental storytelling as the world is filled with clues and hints towards the player's purpose.

Kairo is a first person exploration game and uses standard first person movement controls and has no additional means of interacting with the environment.

Much of the focus of the game comes from moving through the environments seeing what you can find there and experimenting with how the world reacts to your presence. The games features multiple hub areas that allow exploration off in different directions.

As the player explores they will find broken down machines that need to be repaired to make progress. With no direct interaction buttons, or inventory, these puzzles are solved by a combination of pushing objects or levels, standing on switches, or having the world itself realign based on player movement.

It’s played all over the world, Gamepop.co has a huge Indian following from TempleRun fans, many of whom are active on the Facebook fan page which has over 114,000 friends now. The game has been a hit, let’s not deny it. But just how big a hit has it been in the 2 years since it was first released on iOS.
