1.- 109 More of the Best Free and High Quality Linux Games Adventure.

tuxgamesSome years ago a friend of mine told me that the Linux based operating systems were like arthouse films Iranians unintelligible, boring and only for freaks.

Today, fortunately Iranian cinema has been open to the world and it is not uncommon to find people who have enjoyed the film by Samira Makhmalbaf for example.

What about the Linux?

As has also evolved, and therefore has gone from Iranian cinema pelicua class hero Steven Seagal.

I refer to the evidence: adventure games list ded essential open source Linux.

2.- Top 25 Best and Free Gmes for Your Android Tablet | 2013

Android tablets have been around for more than a year, but there still aren’t very many games designed to take advantage of a large screen. These games are not only playable on tablets as well as Android phones (at no extra charge, unlike iOS apps), they are all more fun to play on the big screen. Some of these Games were first available on Apple’s iPad, but as the number of Android tablets increases, we are seeing some companies release games for both formats at the same time.

3.- The most popular games of the month: March 2013.

Obsidian is an open source 3D virtual world for Linux and OpenGL.

obsidian6Obsidian is an extensible virtual world system with a fullblown multiplayer client-server architecture.
It is NOT a VRML2 world system (there are fundamental computer graphics reasons why VRML worlds will always be slow), though there are plans to include VRML2 as a world data format.
Features include: Multiplayer Client-Server architecture, Editable worlds and textures, and projectile weapons.
Obsidian is now a parked project, and no further work will be done on it. Feel free to use this code and study the thinking behind it, but we do NOT advise using it as the basis for any virtual world projects you may have in mind.

Chess engines that will run on your machine and play a game against you or help you analyze, such as GNU Chess, Crafty, or many others. Correspondence chess played by electronic mail. The CMail program automates the tasks of parsing email from your opponent, playing his moves out on your board, and mailing your reply move after you've chosen it.

8.- 3D Chess, 3 dimensional Chess game for X11R6.

By default, Ubuntu comes with glChess, part of the GNOME game suite. It uses the venerable and solid GNUChess engine, but the 2D graphics, while functional, lack the flash common in modern computer chess games.
3 dimensional Chess game for X11R6. There are three boards, stacked vertically; 96 pieces of which most are the traditional chess pieces with just a couple of additions; 26 possible directions in which to move. The AI isn't wonderful, but provides a challenging enough game to all but the most highly skilled players.
3D Chess is an odd, yet interesting game. You have three boards upon which to play, a few new pieces, and no manual to tell me how the new pieces work!!! But this game looks quite cool though, a bit like chess in Star Trek. All it needs is a manual or a link to a website containing documentation. Also, there is no AI to handle this game, so you must have another person to play with. I also like the board names which are x, y, and z.

9.- The Last Sorceror is a fast-action game where you are the leader of a powerful Order of Sorcerors.

last sorceror2The Last Sorceror is a fast-action game where you are the leader of a powerful Order of Sorcerors.
Having defeated mankind's greatest enemy, the Demon Hordes, you retreat to Haven for a life of peaceful seclusion.
This game features Robotron-style action, with the main character being a Wizard who can lay waste to enemy hordes using a variety of magical spells.
Contrary to what it says in the game's exit screen, it is perfectly fine to distribute these files to whomever you wish.

10.- Brutal Chess is a 3D chess game with several levels of AI inspired by 'Battle Chess'

Brutal Chess is actually pretty good. The board and pieces look nice, the AI is good, it actually take time to make a move. Alas, this game will also not load correctly. I imagine that I am having the same problem that Dreamchess is giving me, which is to bad.
I'm not a big fan of chess but if I do play it, at least I want it to look good. Brutal Chess certainly fulfills this with excellent 3D graphics and some cool features to keep the game interesting.
Despite the name Brutal Chess, the game is in no way violent or brutal. The rules and gameplay are as in any other Chess game except here you can choose some pretty cool chess piece designs and the 3D graphics make it look great. The developers have added a few other touches of realism too including shadows, the ability to rotate the camera in any position and history arrows to show your previous moves.

Altitude is a multiplayer 2D aerial combat game.

Altitude logoAltitude is a 2D side-scrolling airplane shooter game created by Erik Measure and Karl Sabo, the founders of Nimbly Games.

The best multiplayer 2D aerial combat game on the internet, Altitude is a fierce contest of ace vs ace, battling for supremacy of the skies in a fast paced combat that is way more fun than a flight simulator.

It is a game of steely nerves, hair-trigger reflexes and brilliant tactical thinking. With five unique planes to choose from and an online community that will provide you with hours of entertainment, the game will stretch you to the limit from the upper reaches of the stratosphere and the relics of a long forgotten city, to within the deepest hollows of underground caverns.

The sirens have sounded, bogies are coming in hot… jump into the fast and agile Loopy and drop your enemies from the sky with a tactical EMP blast - but get out of the way before your Biplane support tears them to pieces with 20mm cannons blazing! Barrel roll through the enemy minefield and arm your nuke as you enter the drop zone.

There it is - the enemy base - but two Mirandas just warped in with lasers hot, and an Explodet is lumbering into position over its hangar deck — will you carry your team to victory?

1.- GameHouse: Women who play online games have more sex.

tux american footballA new survey commissioned by GameHouse, the RealNetworks video-game division, finds that women who play online games are more social than those who don’t and also have sex more frequently than their non-gaming counterparts.
Social scientists may forever debate the question of cause and effect on this one.
But on a more serious note, the survey also found that 55 percent of people who play online games are women, debunking a traditional stereotype. The survey of more than 2,000 U.S. adults by Harris Interactive took into account games played on computers, social networking sites and mobile devices.
“Maybe if we all watched a little less TV and played more games online, we’d all be having a little more sex,” said Matt Hulett of GameHouse, in a news release announcing the results. “Joking aside, this survey matches up with our internal data that women are widely embracing online games with 63% of GameHouse players being women. It’s nice to know that females who play online games are happy – both in their relationships and even in the bedroom.”

Apricots project is a 2D plane dogfighting game.

apricotsApricots for Linux is a game where you fly a little plane around the screen and shoot things and drop bombs on enemy targets, and it's meant to be quick
    and fun.

You fly a little plane around and shoot things and drop bombs.

Despite the name, it has nothing to do with apricots. It's a game where you fly a little plane around the screen and shoot things and drop bombs on enemy targets, and it's meant to be quick and fun.

There can be up to 6 planes, at most two human-controlled. All others will be computer-controlled. Network support is in to do list.

You must shoot at another's planes, destroy others' base and try to keep alive. You may return to your base to refill your ammo. The scenery is randomly generated.

This program was written as a configuration front end for the apricots game, found here. The game on its own requires manual editing of the configuration file to change options, there is at present no options screen. This graphical front end takes the hassle out of constantly editing the configuration file manually, as you can set options on the interface and the program will then write the configuration file for you. All you need to do is tell the program where your configuration file is!

This program is free and open source, much like apricots itself. Unlike apricots, it is written in java - this has the advantage that it is almost guaranteed to run on windows, linux or any other platform support by the JRE. For more questions, please visit the FAQ page.

    What's New in This Release:

    · Sanity check on configuration options now applied
    · Configuration from apricots.cfg extended to all options at runtime
    · Portability Bugfixes applied to getConfig()
    · Mouse pointer now hidden during game
    · Major code cleanup in sampleio class. Looks tidier, but BUG1 still present
    · BORLAND specific options in apricots.cpp found to be redundant Removed.
    · Game speed now properly regulated by TICK_INTERVAL parameter (Fixes BUG2)

Some of these Games were first available on Apple’s iPad, but as the number of Android tablets increases, we are seeing some companies release games for both formats at the same time.

The basic aim of the game is to fight the opponent, scoring points for damage. Some limbs break easier then others, others give more points when hit. To get more points, each joint can be relaxed, contracted, extended or held. This makes the gameplay very open-ended as there are no set moves, although many people will copy a move which seems to work well.

Dota-2Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena video game and the stand-alone sequel to the Defense of the Ancients mod. Developed by Valve Corporation, the game was released on July 9, 2013 for Microsoft Windows, utilizing a free-to-play business model.

OS X and Linux versions of Dota 2 were released on July 18, 2013. Dota 2 is exclusively available through Valve's content delivery platform, Steam.

Dota 2 consists of session-based online multiplayer matches, in which two teams of five players attempt to destroy their opponents' fortified strongholds. Each player controls a "Hero" character and, over the course of an individual game, focuses on improving their hero's abilities, acquiring items, and fighting against the other team.

    Dota2_OldLearnTab

The basic setup of Dota 2 places two strongholds containing critical structures called "Ancients" at opposing ends of a geographically balanced map. These bases are connected by three main paths (referred to as lanes), which are guarded by defensive towers and groups of units commonly referred to as "creeps" which traverse their lanes, attacking enemy units and structures upon sight. Players are split into two teams, each consisting of up to five players, to compete as the primary defenders for each Ancient.

The overall objective of each match is to battle through the opposing force's defenses, and destroy the opponents' Ancient. Because Dota 2 is highly team-oriented, players must coordinate with their teams in order to achieve victory. The towers and stronghold defenses are invulnerable to attacks, so long as the towers nearest to the enemy side still stand, and must be destroyed sequentially – a team cannot destroy the enemy's Ancient without first destroying all towers leading up to it in any one lane.

Kairo is an indie adventure game, developed and published by Locked Door Puzzle, Richard Perrin's independent studio. Kairo is set in world of minimalist abstract architecture which the player must explore to solve the puzzle contained within.

Kairo is played from first person perspective and has no additional controls beyond the ability to look around and navigate the environment. Interaction comes in the form of pushing objects, standing on switches or the environment reacting to player movement.
There is no dialogue and very little text in the game. The narrative comes entirely through environmental storytelling as the world is filled with clues and hints towards the player's purpose.

    Kairo_Game_Cover

Enter the lost world of Kairo. Explore vast abandoned monuments. Bring strange and ancient machinery back to life. Slowly uncover the true purpose of Kairo and fulfil a great destiny.

Kairo has received a positive reaction from critics. Eurogamer described the game as "mysterious and elegant and powerfully distinct" and toucharcade said "The world of Kairo is like a playable, explorable tone poem."

Kairo has been selected for exhibition at events including Develop Conference,Notgames Festival, Eurogamer Expo and Penny Arcade Expo.

    Download demo.

Kairo is a first person exploration game and uses standard first person movement controls and has no additional means of interacting with the environment.

Much of the focus of the game comes from moving through the environments seeing what you can find there and experimenting with how the world reacts to your presence. The games features multiple hub areas that allow exploration off in different directions.

As the player explores they will find broken down machines that need to be repaired to make progress. With no direct interaction buttons, or inventory, these puzzles are solved by a combination of pushing objects or levels, standing on switches, or having the world itself realign based on player movement.

It’s played all over the world, Gamepop.co has a huge Indian following from TempleRun fans, many of whom are active on the Facebook fan page which has over 114,000 friends now. The game has been a hit, let’s not deny it. But just how big a hit has it been in the 2 years since it was first released on iOS.

Gamezebo scored it even higher, 5 out of 5, calling it "an instant iPhone classic," and writing "addictive doesn't even accurately describe the game. Enthralling gameplay as game speeds up. Objectives add goals that keep you playing." Slide to Play also scored the game a perfect score, 4 out of 4. They praised the upgrade system, 3D graphics and controls, concluding "Even if you think you're sick of automatic runners, Temple Run proves there's still much life left in the genre. It matches the sheer thrill and intensity of Canabalt, but with a completely new theme and perspective. We've all wanted to be Indiana Jones at some point, and now's your chance."

IGN scored it 7.5 out of 10, praising the game's depth and upgrade system, which they felt distinguished it from other endless runners, such as Canabalt and Robot Unicorn Attack. They concluded that "Temple Run is a fast and frenzied iPhone experience. The combination of swiping and tilt controls gives each session a frantic feeling [...] Gamers craving a new iOS time waster should give Temple Run a long look."

PC Magazine called the initial Android version "crisp", with "snappy" navigation. They also included it in their "Mobile Apps to keep Kids Happy" list.
